We like to create sites that save time and increase efficiency, and this website for the Netherlands Architecture Institute certainly falls into that category! Before approaching us the NAi handled all bookings by telephone or email, recording each by hand in a text file, and crawling through each line of the file to make changes to individual bookings. Staff simultaneously editing the file led to additional problems.
We implemented a fully automated online booking system, allowing registrations to be made online by visitors and by staff. Visitors are able to log in and register to attend new events or manage existing registrations; staff can add new events directly to the website, and everything in-between is automated. The front-desk staff also have a streamlined interface to allow them to quickly enter bookings taken over the telephone. As with many of our recent projects, the site is fully bi-lingual.
Since it was first deployed the system has been a great success. It was rethemed in 2008 to match the new NAi website design and the functionality updated to meet the changing needs of the NAi.
