Established foundry Leander Architectural has an enviable reputation for quality metalwork. Originally an iron foundry, the family-run Derbyshire firm has expanded over the years to include a bronze foundry in North Wales and the remnants of the Royal Label Factory, and their work is exported worldwide.
Although they had had a website for a number of years they knew it was no longer effective at bringing in business and needed replacing [with something less embarrassing to the business]. They approached Maple Design and asked if we would tender for a replacement.
Leander Architectural already had a well developed brand identity and printed brochures reflecting this. We carried the identity across to the website, which reflects the offline marketing materials. A lot of imagery was used to show off products - when the company is so creative that anything can be created, photography is the best way to demonstrate these skills.
We added a blog to the site, allowing latest news and project updates to be posted on the website. Apart from showing what's happening to new visitors, this creates a following of visitors who'll come back (and lots more fodder for Google to consume).
During its first week the new website paid for itself 5-fold, and has continued to bring in additional business.
We've gained another happy client who regularly recommends our services to their contacts and clients. We've also continued to develop the site since launch, with search engine promotion and optimisation campaigns.
